Established by two highly experienced engineers, Fairways Consulting Structural Engineers provide high quality and cost effective services to both clients and architects for their building projects. We are based in West London and carry out structural engineering design services locally, as well as across London and in neighbouring counties.

The Team
Steve Trend IEng AMIStructE TechWeldI
Steve’s route into engineering started traditionally with a 5-year apprenticeship in fabrication and welding in Leicester and Derby. Building on this sound base, Steve moved on to work in Finland as a Technician Engineer with Magnus Malmberg, Consulting Engineers for the famous Finlandia House and many other Alvar Aalto designed buildings. Over six years in Helsinki, he worked on numerous large-scale industrial, commercial and residential projects in Finland, Russia and Iraq.
On returning to the UK, Steve reached Incorporated Engineer status with the Institute of Structural Engineers. He worked at Dewhurst Macfarlane & Partners, Nickalls & Roche and as an Associate Director with mbok Consulting Engineers.
Throughout his career Steve has been involved in the day to day running and design of a broad range of construction projects, from the very small domestic extensions through to the large commercial developments and high-end residential projects.
Veronika Tarasova MEng (Oxon) CEng MIStructE
Veronika graduated from Oxford University in 2001 with a degree in Engineering, Economics and Management. Since then, she has worked on a number of high-profile jobs in Whitbybird and WSP, including office buildings, residential and mixed use developments. Veronika became a Chartered Engineer in 2006. In 2011, she joined mbok, a smaller local practice, where she quickly became an Associate Director.
Veronika is responsible for delivering small to medium sized projects from feasibility, to design and construction phases. She enjoys working closely and collaboratively with Architects, Clients and Contractors, delivering bespoke structural engineering solutions for residential developments and commercial construction projects.
In the past, Veronika also mentored graduates through the Institute of Structural Engineering graduate scheme, to help them achieve a Chartered status, and participates regularly in events that promote the built environment to the general public - like London Open House and London Festival of Architecture.
